NAME
       user_exists() - returns true if a given user exists

SYNOPSIS
       int user_exists(string str)

DESCRIPTION
       If the argument passed is an existing player, this
       function returns true.  Otherwise the function returns
       false.

EXAMPLES
       user_exists("descartes") returns true on Nightmare
